eBooks: Bringing an Entirely New Palette of Options to Authors

In 2007, Amazon transformed book reading with its release of the Kindle Book reader.  Since then, the explosive sale of book readers has caused an immense rise in the sale of eBooks, surpassing the sale of hardcover books.

It is predicted that within 5 years, the vast majority of all books sold will be eBooks.  While it is sad to see the  500 year old printing press industry come to an end, digital book publishing is an exciting new industry with truly amazing potential for growth.

It will pave the way for lower cost publishing, new forms of books, more authors, more titles and many new opportunities.  For example, Wiseologie’s “enhanced eBooks” create an opportunity for the reader to connect even deeper with the author by having video available for viewing directly on their reader.

For most of history technology has only allowed information to flow in one direction.  However, today the rules are different; information flows in many different directions allowing anyone to voice their ideas.  People can now expect to be able to interact with the author and are able to add comments to forums fueling comments from other readers.  Readers who become engaged with the information in an eBook will become fanatics for it, telling others about it and potentially broadcasting it to the world.

Books that tell a story will have an entirely new palette of options for bringing their masterpiece to life.

This is an exciting time for both authors and readers alike, as storytelling and information products shift into an entirely different gear.
